Two giant franchises from the world of cinema come together as a fan-made comic puts John Wick in the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

Keanu Reeves became infamous as the stoic hitman on a quest for justice after 2014’s John Wick. Following John on a vengeance mission after his dog is brutally killed, Reeves became an internet sensation and meme-worthy addition to viral marketing. Wick (and a new dog) were obviously back for a sequel, with an expanded universe planned for the near future and John Wick 3 set for 2019. However, what happens when you stick John Wick alongside the might of the MCU?

Taking to Twitter, Todd Muldrew shared a comic book strip that imagines Wick tooling up to help the Avengers take on Thanos in the MCU’s upcoming 19th movie:

While it is unclear exactly where the artwork came from - though, presumably the Twitter user made it themselves - it is thought to have been inspired by an earlier tweet about Wick crossing paths with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Basically, the unwritten rule is cross Wick and his dog and you end up dead. Even the Mad Titan Thanos would struggle to take over the galaxy with John on his tail:

The strip is a clever piece of work, combining the ongoing search for the Soul Stone and the recurring joke that no one loves dogs quite like John Wick. While some fans thought Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther would reveal the location of the final Infinity Stone, it is a mystery that will roll over into Infinity War and maybe beyond. It is a wild idea hiding the Soul Stone inside a four-legged friend, but stranger things have happened in the MCU - one wild theory even proposed that Wakanda itself was the last piece of Thanos’ puzzle.

The panel is amusing on another level, mainly because Reeves was even once tipped to join the MCU - possibly taking the role of Doctor Strange instead of Benedict Cumberbatch. There is every chance that the 53-year-old could still join the world’s highest-grossing franchise in Phase 4 thanks to the 20+ movies that Kevin Feige has planned, but Reeves seems a little busy with the ever-expanding John Wick universe.

Safe to say, if the Avengers ever were in a tight spot, having Thanos kill John Wick’s dog would be a surefire way to make sure the war was over before it even began. John Wick would certainly be high on anyone’s dream crossover list, but his violent stance on vigilante justice may be a little bloodthirsty for the MCU’s family-friendly movies. Sadly, there is only one page from the comic, but given the traction it is getting online, the artist would be mad not to release a full “Infinity Wick” comic book to go alongside Avengers: Infinity War’s release.
