Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Fix Low Resolution
- Make sure to check for Windows build update and if there is any latest cumulative update available, just download and install it.
- Additionally, ensure to update your DirectX version to 11.0 or higher. You can download and install the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer on the PC to get the latest DirectX version.
- If the above method doesn’t fix the issue, make sure to change the DPI settings from the installed game folder. To do this:
- Go to the installed Steam folder on your PC or directly head over to the ‘Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin’ location.
- Now, right-click on the bg3.exe file > Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > Select ‘Application’ for “Override High DPI Scaling performed” under the ‘High DPI Scaling override’.
- Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Fix Access Denied

- Go to the installed Steam folder on your PC or directly head over to the ‘Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin’ location.
- Now, right-click on the bg3.exe file > Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > Select ‘Application’ for “Override High DPI Scaling performed” under the ‘High DPI Scaling override’.
- Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

- Disable Controlled Folder Access from Windows Security. Click on Start > Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Manage ransomware protection > Turn off the Controlled folder access.
- Set Restore Defaults under the Documents folder (right-click) > Properties > Locations. Just open the File Explorer or This PC and do accordingly.
- In some cases, the Microsoft OneDrive Cloud Backup process for the Documents folder can be the reason. Make sure to turn off the OneDrive backup for the mentioned folder and you’ll be good to go.
