In line with last week’s announcement, Apple’s fourth store in Switzerland opened this weekend in Basel. The store, like most Apple Stores, opened to significant crowds and Apple handed out commemorative shirts to celebrate. The interior of the store appears like most Apple Stores, and the location already has been equipped with the new interior visual design:
With the opening of this new Swiss store behind Apple, the Cupertino-based company is planning for the imminent debut of a new store on Princes Street in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Apple only says that the new store is “coming soon,” but as we noted last week, IFOAppleStore’s Gary Allen expects the store’s grand opening to occur on August 2nd. These two new stores are only a small percentage of many more that new Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts is planning to open over the next year. We reported that Ahrendts is planning new stores in Italy, several new locations in China, and many new mall-based stores in the United States.
