Zoë Kravitz was scared of meeting Michelle Pfeiffer for the first time. Kravitz is the newest actress to take on the Catwoman mantle on the big screen for the upcoming DC film The Batman. The Batman is set to be released nearly 30 years after Batman Returns hit theaters, which starred Michael Keaton as Batman and Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle.

There have been a handful of actors to play Bruce Wayne since Keaton’s time in the role, and Robert Pattinson is the newest actor to play the character. Kravitz was cast as Catwoman last October, but she won’t be the only villain going up against Batman. Just a few days before Kravitz’s role was announced, Prisoners and There Will Be Blood actor Paul Dano was cast as the Riddler. The Penguin had also been rumored to be in the film for quite a while, but eventually, Colin Farrell was confirmed to be playing Oswald Cobblepot by director Matt Reeves. There have been a few actors to take on these roles in the past, and Kravitz was scared to meet her predecessor.

In a recent interview on The Ellen Show, Kravitz talked about becoming Catwoman. When talking about her first time meeting Pfeiffer, Kravitz admitted, “I was actually, I was sitting at the Globes with David Kelly, because he you know writes our show, and Michelle Pfeiffer, and I was bowing to the queen, a little nervous to be in her presence now.” She went on to talk about her costume fittings for the character and how physical her training has been. Kravitz also revealed that she was heading to London to start filming her scenes after her interview.

Since Kravitz just started filming The Batman last night, it’s only a matter of time before pictures of Catwoman leak online. Commissioner Gordon actor Jeffrey Wright recently revealed that The Batman had begun filming, which resulted in several set photos to leak online. While Batman’s suit still remains a mystery, set photos revealed the first look of Pattinson as Bruce Wayne as well as the first look of Farrell as the Penguin. Needless to say, it will be a while before Warner Bros. releases any official photos, but leaked set photos of Kravitz are bound to find their way online soon.

Anne Hathaway played Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, but Pfeiffer’s time in the role is often considered one of the best versions of Catwoman to date. Kravitz has proven herself as an actress with many blockbusters like Divergent, X-Men: First Class, and Mad Max: Fury Road, but her role in The Batman will no doubt be one of her biggest roles to date. It’s safe to say Kravitz has probably been looking to Pfeiffer for inspiration, and it completely makes sense why she would be intimidated to meet her for the first time.
